Hey Matt & Tim. You probably won’t see this message, I’m really hoping you do. Could you do a video on how to retrieve a gut hooked fish or just an awkward hooked fish. That’s about the only tip from yous I haven’t inquired yet. I know it would be a hard vid but it would be a super super helpful vid. That and another updated knot video. I learned the blood knot from your older knot vid but I could see many of the other knots you tied. Older cameras and uploading in SD will do that. An updated one would be siiiiiick! Very very helpful as well! Thanks guys for everything. Really appreciate everything you do for the sport and the community’s from the easy to the west! 👍

I'm an old school Buck Perry kind of guy so there are four things I look for in any fishing video: depth and lure speed, water temperature, and water clarity. Tell me that and I can select the appropriate lure that I have confidence and I'm on my way. I'd encourage you guys to note that in your summaries.

Well I agree about 50% but there's another half that schooling technique just doesn't apply to in the spring. Especially when you start talking during the spawning weeks. And it may be a east coast thing but bigger bass when found with small schoolies are often always way out to the side of a school or directly on the bottom with no intention to come up even a foot.

You should explain to the new to fishing or younger guys/gals how to log their outings in a simple easy to use way for future reference. As a guide I’m sure you log your guided trips. I just use the notes on my phone and log, date/water/air temp/frontal conditions/successful & unsuccessful baits/catches and some depth and location notes. I’ll screen shot that note and keep it with my fish photos for the day in their own dated folder AND! Back up your photos. Nothing would suck more than losing several years of data

Quite the contrary, Clearlake where we live is the exact same. We speak nationally though not all of it applies to our own water. Our bays have nearly zero transition with expansive tullie flats... the secondaries, flats. Etc still apply but they take a different shape. Weed edges, pinch points, etc fill the roles.

I've been lucky enough to fish one of this mega-schools. With a few differences, my local pond is small so the largest fish on the school was a 6 lber. Also, this was in February because I live in Mexico so pre-spawn and spawn happen much earlier in the year. How do you get swimbait followers to bite man!!!!!!!!! I was using a magdraft today and had multiple fish, including some giants follow right up to me and never commit, I tried pausing, faster, slower, bigger, smaller, multiple colors, high in water column fast, high and slow, low and crawling, then i tried square bill, jerk bait, then whacky rig then drop shot. I have a weakness for seeing fish and not moving until I catch them or have to leave. I don't have a boat so I am bank fishing public ramps. The only thing they had interest in was that magdraft swimbait by mega Bass. I would throw down beside or under dock, they would come up and follow but not commit. Tried to make em react but didn't work. I even went super finesse because I saw shore minnows and figured they were feeding on them. Used the smallest swimbait I had on a weighted hook, nothing. Derek Pearson I’ve asked several times if they would include water temps for at least their fall, winter and spring videos but have only seen it mentioned once. It was in the video saying to use red or red orange baits when the water temps hit 50. Matt also said in that video that he doesn’t normally mention water temps because he doesn’t think it’s that important. It’s one of very few things I disagree with them on. I think due to where all their viewers live it’s very important. I have 47 degree water temps today, here in Northern Illinois, which is probably what techniques their videos were showing 2 months ago. Just my opinion
