New to catfishing and trying to soak up all that I can. I'm interested in trying planer boards and was curious if you recommended any particular spec rod. Seems to me that logically you may want a softer, more moderate tip as opposed to a stiff, fast tip. Is that the case or am I completely off base? Thanks so much for any information.

I use my MH Whisker Seeker rods. 99% of catfish rods are too stiff.

Yes, it will run the batteries down but standard LA or AGM batteries will last all day. Lithium batteries will last multiple days.

It’s a santee rig with a ball chain swivel. Nothing complicated at all about it.
