With your hand on the 12 o’clock position on the steering wheel the trailer does not go in the direction you turn the wheel. It’s just the opposite. if you turn the wheel to the right the trailer goes to the left. What’s your saying would be true if you’r hand is in the 6 o’clock position. Just sayin.

I've got 4/0 octopus hook because catfish in my area aren't huge will a 4/0 octopus hook work? I've used 3/0 circle hook on a dropshot and caught catfish on it. Not huge catfish but not bad ones. Small for what most catfish fishermen like a 4lb or a little bigger.
@rodneymontague99878 күн бұрын
One thing for people having problems backing is if you put your hands at the 6 o’clock position on steering wheel your trailer will follow the same direction as your hand.

I have never lost a catfish or a bullhead on a circle hook fishing in a lake . The river I got snagged on the bottom and the fish shook loose I have been using circle hooks since about 1995.

If it's a ramp you plan on using a lot.. stop short of the trailer and check for current.. usually it stays the same.

Gotta turn hat around backwards, cross your eyes and stick tounge out and ......first rotate it clockwise. If that don't work try counterclockwise.....hope this helps.

You can use same principles for bass. Spawn up north for bass is late May into June. Prespawn usually late April up to early May. Prespawn I've caught some nice smallies. Yes, I know this is about catfish just making the statement the behaviors of catfish being similar to bass.

Good, but i also unplug the trailer lights before backing in to keep the bulbs from being hot or warm and hitting cold water and then blowing up. Especially in north climates and cold as hE!! water.

GROUND There is more than one kind of ground. There is a Battery ground-negative going to the battery. There is also an Earth ground on the back of the GL 10 live scope black box there is a ground screw the new Garmin Sonar units now have a ground screw on the back because of Bluetooth this is also to prevent interference called RF. When you ground to the negative on the battery. If there is any RF static it will be going to ground through the battery to ground. The RF can travel through all your units before it goes to the ground. The more units you add to the boat the chance of RF. IF you have interference you need to have a water ground you want the screw on the back of units to go straight to the ground. This is like dedicated power but it is GROUND! I talked to the Garmin Tech on the phone last week. I am an electronic tech also if you hook up this circuit to an Oscilloscope and ground it to the battery you will see RF on the scope. VHF ship-to-shore radios must have water ground. A light bulb can cause interference on a radio if the Bulb is not grounded properly to earth. Hope this helps they will be someone who says I don't know what I am talking about my advice is to call Garmin and talk to the guy who built the dam unit! Stop telling me I am wrong all this new blue tooth in a boat is a game changer! Good Luck

Not every ramp is at the same angle. Some ramps are very steep and the back of the trailer will be very deep while the front is sticking out of the water. There are so many variables the best thing to do is not try to drive the boat up on the trailer, Just hook the winch line and use the winch, Maybe back up the truck a little further to get the boat floating more if it's too difficult to winch up.

Kudos on the clean face. So tired of looking at all these bombs that look like Sasquatch. Good points. Another thing I do is chock at least one of my front wheels. If the ramp is really mossy, your parking brake won’t do any good because they only apply to the back wheels.
