Size 16 hooks and rainbow glitter is what I would start with. 1/4 oz egg sinker and two foot leader

Thank you! My biggest tip is to keep as little slack in your line as possible. Watch the line closely and set the hook fast when you see it start to move (before the fish has time to swallow it). Circle hook might help too!

Get the red hook remover tool and learn to use it. Even deeply sunk small trebles are safely removed if you know how.
