I live in buhl id... Been wanting to crayfish trap... Are we aloud to keep traps out overnight ? Do they need to be attended? You have your traps 'tagged' ? Jw... They don't really enforce stuff on buhl... Twin they do lol. But my luck who knows
@crayster3926 Жыл бұрын
You can put your traps out overnight, and you do tag them with your information. Check out the Crayster traps at www.procrayster.com They are far and away the best and made right here in Idaho!

Have you caught crawfish on Ririe yet this year? I’m having a hard time this year in the spots I normally do well!
@crayster39264 жыл бұрын
We have, but its been sparse. We think the lake went too low, then too high. We are hoping there was not a big kill rate this year.

Good to know I was wondering! This is Preston Horman by the way, we’ve met a couple times I was friends with Jake in high school!

If you catch crawfish and plan on boiling them the next day. What's the best way to keep them fresh until then?
@crayster39264 жыл бұрын
Keep them on ice or in a cooler with a bubbler. Thanks for watching.

Has the American west always had crayfish like that? how come Louisiana has the big crawfishing tradition but not the Rockies?
@crayster39264 жыл бұрын
Yep, the American west has always had some of the biggest crawfish. Like you saw in the episode there are some monsters in Louisiana also. Big ones everywhere!

Does anyone know when crawfish are in season here in southern Nevada lake mead and Mojave

Did you live in Colorado Springs?
@texdog27724 жыл бұрын
You might consider throwing a few of the biggest ones back letting there genes carry on there large size. They have found this works in all species. Someday only mojumbo crayfish will be there. Your little cove where only the giants live.
@crayster39264 жыл бұрын
We have no shortage of big crawfish here. But some times we catch so many we do put a few back. You will have to check out our "Race for the Water" episode.

I know there's the difference between lobsters and crayfish, but some of these big ones look like a baby lobsters. Is there such a thing as a freshwater lobster?

Any huge crawfish in Georgia????????
@crayster3926 Жыл бұрын
I have actually heard of big craws caught all over the U.S. Some times it is the traps that restrict the big ones from getting in.
