How to catch mackerel when feathers aren’t working

Sounds like a really good tip, well worth trying. My favourite fishing for the Mack is a float off a harbour wall - on tackle as light as you can get away with - which is pretty light over sand or gravel. When there are plenty of fish about it's hard to beat the thrill of watching that float dive. Also some nice garfish caught this way. Went boat fishing yesterday and put about 60 in the bucket from feathers. Not much thrill but great eating :)
