Watch some incredible underwater footage of big Snapper like you've never seen before and the tactics used to film and catch them on live baits. Moreton Bay wrecks and artificial reefs is home to some fantastic snapper, jewfish, cod, mangrove jacks, large mouth nannygai, grouper and more.

I used to follow u years ago but to be honest the track ur on now is way more impressive to me... loved that you are releasing quality fish and showing a genuine passion for their habitat.. ur welcome in our backyard at yeppoon any time if diesel prices ever allow that again in our lifetime lol

Thanks heaps mate. I love all forms of fishing and in-particular watching fish in their natural environment. haha cheers mate I usually head up that way every year and we've been doing trips up from yeppoon into shoalwater. Love it up there. We did a trip to the swains from yeppoon in my trailer boat as well which awesome. That trip is available on my website and has some amazing trout, red and nanny footage in it. Cheers for the support mate.

@@gregswickedfishing yeah I go that shoalwater way sometimes but not so much for reds... more nannis. I met you and ur dad and Andy once at tin can bay boat ramp few years back. I used to live there. But decided to head north. Not a lot of trophy reds here but plenty of 7 to 10kg. Once u have ur share of trophy photos I think the 7 to 10kgs are better value anyway... better on the table anyway😀

Always collecting the cool footage Greg 🤙was the tide pushing when the snaps were down deep in the cave mate I’ve found most the big ones I’ve caught are up high on the change coming into slack water 🎣 interesting to see the quality hanging together under the one cave though 👌
@gregswickedfishing
@gregswickedfishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate I put in a lot of time and effort to get footage like that but it's worth it in the end. It was neap tides when I filmed that so bugger all run and was really strange to see Snapper hug the wreck and sit in a cave like that.

Hey mate great video, I’m interested in your bimini top, does it fold down? Where did you pick it up from? I like that there are no straps in the way. Cheers
@gregswickedfishing
@gregswickedfishing Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I got it second hand, removed the straps and put a support bar on each side to hold it open, then have front supports to hold it in position. Gives you a lot more room.

Another great vid mate, amazing underwater snapper footage! Was that mono main line? I've found there's too much stretch and you miss hits so prefer braid with just 2 rod lengths of mono leader tied with an FG
@gregswickedfishing
@gregswickedfishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate it's much appreciated. Although we mostly use braid for majority of our fishing, using mono line has big advantages when float lining for Snapper. It has a slower sink rate due to the diameter and when a fish takes a bait they feel less resistance and lessons the chance of them spitting it back out knowing something isn't right.

Great video Greg just found your channel. When you anchor up near a wreck when there's a bit of current, how far do you usually sit ahead of the current? Is there a trick to it?
@gregswickedfishing
@gregswickedfishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks Ryan glad you liked it mate. How far forward you anchor really depends on the strength of the current, depth your in and the rigs your using. Generally snapper with roam around and away from the wrecks or any structure so as long as your reasonably close you have a chance of getting them.

Hey Greg cracking video bud really liked the underwater drone footage , how are you rigging your livies on the gangs brother that one had me curious
@jordangrant6219
@jordangrant6219 Жыл бұрын
I was wondering about that too!
@gregswickedfishing
@gregswickedfishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate much appreciated. I often use 3 ganged hooks for livies when I'm using heavier line/outfits as it's much stronger and lessons the chance of the fish damaging/breaking the line between two snelled hooks. It also gives an extra hook point for increased hook up rate. I lightly pin the hooks through the upper body of the livies with the first hook going through close by the lip/nose area.
