Most buoys won't have a tripletail on it, so it's more of a numbers game... the more you check the more you'll see.

Anything floating can potentially hold trips. An elevated platform makes a huge difference. We have a half tower, like that pathfinder, and have trailed boats on the buoy lines, catching fish the other guys never saw.

Sweet video! Makes me want to fish around the crab traps up here in the Big Bend area a little more. I mostly target oyster bars and mounds on the open water and do okay. Wish our water up here was a little more clear as sight fishing is totally out of the question with all the rain and runoff from the coastal creeks. Thanks again and tight lines!

I literally just finished eating a tripletail I caught under a sailboat in Destin. I was surprised it had that cod/redfish aftertaste. Still good though.

@@Saltstrong Thanks! It was a bonus that day. I sight casted a 39" cobia with a 1 oz. Roostertail spinner that was pretty good tasting for a large fish (not exceptional like I have heard), on top of that I caught my limit of nice red snapper in 80 feet of water over what appeared to be a capsized boat found on the Garmin. The tripletail and snapper were keyed in on greenback herring. It was the only non-windy day I got to take out the kayak post hurricane. The red snapper tastes like buttered lobster which is a mystery to me.
