Yes you can absolutely catch trout from the shore all around Folsom Lake. They are just as finicky for bank anglers as they are for trollers. Obviously the cold water months are best. Standard dough bait and inflated worms work well as do worms suspended under slip bobbers. I've had very good success on live minnows if you can get them. Brace yourself...The biggest bank rainbow I ever got at Folsom went between 4 and 5 pounds...I caught it in the fall at Rattlesnake when soaking a piece of chicken liver for catfish...Yes chicken liver. When you've got bait in the water you never know what's going to turn up!

Folsom Lake is literally my back yard. I use Speed Spoons cuz I think the "eyes" make the difference for Kings. Also use 2" Pearl hoochies under a pearl ProTroll 360
