Hey there I live in Keswick and go ice fishing all winter and have never got a white fish. Where abouts are you fishing.

From what I've seen , the lake off of Keswick, south of Georgina Island is relatively shallow water, good for perch and pike but not the greatest place for the colder water species. Take a look online for a map of the lake with depths and it will give you an idea. I've heard that 70-90 feet works best, though I imagine that they come shallower at times to water that's adjacent to the deeper spots.

how big/ heavy is your hook? we fish anywhere from 60-130' for them on superior, is it heavy enough to get to bottom and jig effectively at that depth?

*. Just want to rasie awareness * Check out The Canadian Red Cross’ website for their ice thickness recommendations. It is listed in centimenters only. Geeesh! Is there one Ice Angler who talks about ice thickness in centimetres? None that I know of. I have written them to ask them to change their article to include inches when talking about ice thickness. I would urge anyone to do the same.
