The ashes fertilizing the ground has truth to it. People used to spread fall leaves over their yards and do a controlled singe/burn. The next spring the yards would be a beautiful dark green carpet.

Thanks for this lovely video, Bex. In Italy we put the flowers in water and let it sit outside to collect the dew overnight. We use the water to wash our hands and faces to purify ourselves and attract luck, love and health. Usually the flowers are hypericum, lavender, mallow, mugwort, sage, rosemary, mint, but also chamomile, roses, poppies and cornflower. Happy harvest!!

Uhh, bist du in Tirol beim Bergfeuer? Bin zwar nicht da, weil das doch bissi weit weg von Wien ist, aber es soll voll schön sein! Richtig cool, dass die Leut in Österreich ihre Paganbräuche noch feieren, obwohl sie mehr oder minder eingebettet sind in den Christlichen Glauben. Und ich dachte schon, dass die Österreicher ihre Wurzeln komplett vergessen haben, weil es echt schwer ist den wahren Hintergrund dahinter zu finden. Das sag ich als gelernte Kulturanthropologin. Im Studium haben´s nur den Christlichen Hintergrund beleuchtet 😅

How timely as always, It’s a beautiful day, sunny, warm but not hot day in the NYC metro area and I decided to invite friends to an early Summer Solstice dinner party in the garden. My husband is grilling and making strawberry cake and I made lavender lemonade. I will also be making flower crowns with my friend. She’s from Portugal so I will ask her what they do in her culture.

Ahhh summer solstice/Litha is my favorite Sabbat. Closely followed by Beltane. Which is strange really because spring is my fave season, then summer, autumn then ugh, winter lol. Wonderful vid as always, thank you. I will be watching this regularly to get me through ugh winter months 😂❤

I live in western Oregon I! the US It seems we've hardly seen the sun since last fall. it just doesn't fit here to be celebrating mid-summer when it's still cool and cloudy and rainy. I've always said that our summers here really start on the 5th of July, although we aren't always cursed with rain to spoil the 4th of July celebrations. Happily, we are supposed to have sun this year for the solstice. Our summers here are normally July - September.

@@Thewitchescookery unfortunately my gardens were waist high in weeds, my grandson came by my house every other week to mow...that was it. Since my husband passed away in February I went to Greece and Crete for 2 weeks, Alaska (my daughter's) for 3 weeks and then took my granddaughter (6) to Hawaii to visit my sister. I've been back home for a week and temps have been in the upper 90's. So I've been weeding and trying to restore my gardens, might be too late to plant veggies. I love seeing your videos, I hope you get to feeling better. On a positive note, my lavender is stunning and I'm going to have lots of sachets, lavender hand cream and store some for later. 🐝

Hoi 😄👋 you basically just light the tip on fire and then you can wave it around to let the smoke waft around. Definitely hold some sort of plate underneath it, so you don't get the ashes or glowing bits everywhere! And then you can just let it go out when you done. In Bulgaria where I come from on the 24th we celebrate Еньовден which basically is all of those traditions you mentioned - herbs are at their most powerful before sunrise and morning dew is considered to have magical powers (so having a roll around the morning dew is supposed to bring you health). Yea Litha & summer solstice. I spent the weekend at a music and arts festival. It was great to connect with all my summer faerie friends. Your poppyseed sun looks amazing. Not sure I can pull that off so I'll make a Litha incense tomorrow.

I'm a beginner witch and I just found this video and wanted to ask if the wheel of the year is a Wiccan thing only? Like there's no real information on the internet, everyone says something different but I thought it's a pagan way of living and Wiccans and witches who aren't Wiccan are also under the pagan umbrella term. I actually wanted to start celebrating the feasts but I keep getting confused and or unsure about it because I am not Wiccan and I don't intend to be, so what do I do?

In our area (California) we are entering fire season. Would you have any advice to adjust the bundle to protect from fire along with thunderstorms? Or just change the intention? Also, beautiful video.

I would use the exact same herbs (especially St John's Wort) - it was used to protect from fire too (for example through lightning)
