I have some questions! Will this not chip since it wasn’t sanded first? If not , how? Then as someone else asked, can you not use another kind of typical sealant on this? I hear you have to reapply wax every six months or so?

Yes you can use lacquer on top of Chalk Paint... Use instead of wax. Annie Sloan makes gloss and matte!

I’ve had 2 nightstands in my garage for years. I have watched several chalk paint tutorials and I never felt confident enough to start. I took them out of the garage yesterday, determined to finally paint them. I decided to KZbin chalk painting one more time-I’m so glad I found this video! @@sheemakhan4738 Yes it stayed on very well-I didn’t wax and the paint still stayed. I’m going to wax the tops, as they have gotten a bit stained from coffee rings.

Glad you found this tutorial helpful! Try not to stress, maybe start with a small project like painting an old picture frame to test out the steps and build your confidence. Remember, you can always paint over it if you are not 100% happy with the colour or change your mind on the style :) Thanks for watching.

So glad you found my channel and noticed Tito and Luna, they usually make a special appearance :) Good luck with your cabinets, the steps are the same as the ones in this video, just a lot more work because there is more to paint but you can do it!! Make sure you clean before you start, use a degreaser and really scrub everything! I've painted a few kitchens before and it looks great, worth the work!

Thanks for this straightforward and informative video! I feel encouraged to go ahead with my project. One question: I will be repainting the top of my dining room table. It was a “farmhouse” white painted table, and when we put a plant in the middle, some water leaked underneath and the paint has come off in a few places and you can see bare wood. I expect that I’ll need to sand those areas and then prime? Should I prime the whole top? Thank!

Glad you found this video informative! I would probably sand or strip the entire top because sometimes you will still see the patched area when you apply new paint or sealer. Especially if you are going for a smooth finish. But yes, at a minimum I would sand away and loose paint and prime.

I’m working in a large open room. Chalk Paint has no smell but the wax does have a bit of an odour so I like to open a window for air flow.
