This video saved me nearly £600. I'm so grateful! Failed my MOT with leaking shock absorbers. Can't believe they quoted me £800 to have the work done (and drop links done). Told them to jog on and did it myself. 10 hours later soaked from the rain but £600 quids up! Heroes!

Torques are wrong. For swing arm to shock strut it's 40 Nm instead of 55 and for shock strut to steering knuckle it's 80 Nm + 60 deg + 15 deg, not 105 Nm, wheel nuts 110 Nm instead of 120 Nm and for strut mount bearing it's 45 Nm instead of 60... I have no idea where you took these values...

You are absolutely right, thank you for your comment. We understand that mistakes were made during the replacement, and in the future we will try not to allow this to happen again.

You don't need shock absorber sockets. Just use offset spanners.

What’s a offset spanner?

Why not change the whole shock absorver instead of fixing the old one?

Very professional tutorial, clean and professional job! The copper grease spray is common in UK not in my country so can I use white lithium grease?

If the characteristics of the lubricant are suitable, then you can use it. AUTODOC

Hi. What mm socket is the #9 shock absorber socket please if that’s the slim tool that goes on the top?? I’m looking for the one that connects to the shock itself not the nut

Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately, it is not possible to answer your question, perhaps you can find out this information in the technical documentation for the repair of your car. Best Regards, Autodoc team

It should be a 9mm. I used a 9mm spanner on the top of the shock absorber and a 18mm for the nut.
