My fuel filter clogged cause I am gelled up. Any suggestions for winterizing? Thank you for the great tutorial. I just paid my truck off so I'll need to get to saving some money the more I can do myself.

You need to make sure you are putting antigel in your fuel tanks before it gets colder. Rule of thumb is that if you are heading into weather colder than 15°F then you need to treat your fuel. The white bottle power services sold at truck stops and walmart has never failed me. They sell small and big bottles, the big bottles are what I buy and I split half the bottle in each tank and that will treat 250 gallons of diesel. It needs to be mixed in so do it before you fuel or make sure you drive for a bit afterwards so it has time to mix and make it through your fuel lines and into your davco filter. Otherwise, a gelling filter can sometimes be fixed with red bottle diesel 911 in a pinch.

Go to any dealership parts department and just ask for a davco fuel water separator

I changed this filter now everytime i loosen the top cap it sucks in the diesel do you know why

It may just be going into the lines. It only really stays full when it needs to be changed

You dont change both fuel filters at the same time?

Not on the road typically. I get my oil changed and pm done every month or so and have them do my other filters then. Unless I get some bad fuel, then I'll swap them

How much 911 did you use?

Usually just enough to offset the difference and get the fuel to the bottom of the label. I honestly dont even really do that anymore. Just drop the fuel back in, prime it by turning the key to on once or twice and fire it up
