Thank you so much for posting this video it was extremely useful. Took out and replaced the ignition in a 92 S-10 and had no clue on what to do without this video. Very detailed video thumbs up

The buzzer was staying on after I replaced the key lock cylinder when the key was removed. The cylinder I put in the little white gizmo on the bottom of the cylinder didn't move. Now I know the problem thanks to this video. I bought a bad cylinder. Thanks bro

I just stumbled across your video while trying to refresh myself on the "joys" of pulling a GM column apart... I've done it once to an '85 S-10 Blazer, and now I need to do it for my '87 LeSabre (and you're right about the 3.8, it's a smooth engine with just the right amount of torque to get these beasts up to speed). Thanks for filming an informative video, you covered all the bases. One thing to note, the cancel cam assembly (if you still have the car) is available as part of the turn signal switch unit, but I've also seen it in the Dorman Help! section of the local auto parts box stores without the actual switch attached. I've had 4 separate 80's GM vehicles that have lost the spring for the left cancel. Also, this is a great fix if you get the other 80's GM ignition issue: where you can pull the ignition key out when the engine is running. Admittedly, I use that as a "feature," I can start the car and let it warm up and take the keys with me, locking the doors.

Great informative video. I haven't removed a switch in a long time, but my 81 Chevy 4x4 needs one and this little refresher course was just what I needed. Thanks and God bless.

excellent video man, had the same problem with my 92 chevy truck, lock froze up in the hardware store parking lot this evening , now I must do this same thing tomorrow in their lot. Nice to know what I'm going to need before attempting this job, thanks again!

The Chilton manual glossed over the 'how to' part, assuming I suppose that a pro mechanic would be able to fill in the missing steps. I watched a couple other videos first, each left something to be desired but your video was spot-on and it detailed all the steps involved so thank you!

Thanks for making this video. Without it I would have been without a vehicle until I could afford a mechanic! Lucky I wasn't parked on a street with street cleaning, else it would have been even more valuable!

Thanks so much dude! Just successfully used your tutorial for an 89 YJ Wrangler and everything was pretty much the same. Just saved me a couple hundred. Got the ignition cylinder from Amazon for $17 and rented the specialty tools from autozone so I spent almost nothing. You rule! I would know nothing without guys like you selling to take the time to record.

Finally, a useful tutorial video. Every other video I watched made this seemingly simple job look extremely difficult. Thanks for this vid, you helped save me time and money. Keep up the good work!

Oddly enough, it is almost exactly like the column in my 89 Dodge Ram Van. I took it apart the hard way without the compressor tool. Now I wish I had it. This helped me out a lot. Great vid.

If you try to pull the wheel off without the puller .. LEAVE THE NUT SCREWED ON A LITTLE BIT.. If you dont and the wheel does come off while pulling on it , it will hit you smack in the face..
