Hi Elizabeth, thanks for making this video. Super helpful! One question, do the 45mm Radiomir OEM straps for the wire lug models need the steel tubes that come with the standard Luminor straps? No tubes needed? Thank you!!
@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler Жыл бұрын
Hi Josh, no I don't believe I have ever seen the steel tubes used for the Radiomir with wire lugs. I'm not sure it would all fit so best to go without - Elizabeth

Will those screws come loose? Do we need to check their tightness often?
@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler3 жыл бұрын
Not often, and you can feel when they begin to come loose

Could you share the size of the screwdriver? Any brand you recommend? Thank you
@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler3 жыл бұрын
This is a screwdriver provided by Panerai, it measures 1.6mm in size
@uptheorg2 жыл бұрын
I use a 1.4mm by Bergeon -- it comes on Amazon with a couple of extra "heads" for when it starts to deteriorate.
@KiwiDJ2 жыл бұрын
@@uptheorg Agreed. 1.4mm is the size you want for Radiomir wire lug models.

Elizabeth - what strap do you have on your Panerai? Great looking, love the colour and style?
@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler2 жыл бұрын
The brown leather strap is Panerai's calf assolutamente strap. The green canvas strap has unfortunately been discontinued, although Panerai now makes canvas straps in quite a few other colors as replacements.
@Andrew-nn4ml2 жыл бұрын
@@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler Hi Elizabeth - I mean the strap on the Panerai you're wearing on YOUR watch, the watch you have on, almost looks Burgundy in colour at this mark in the video (approx) 5:19-5:21
@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler2 жыл бұрын
@@Andrew-nn4ml Sorry about that, yes you're correct it was a burgundy alligator strap. Also unfortunately discontinued. The closest you can get via Panerai would be a dark red shiny alligator strap that they make for the Due collection

@@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler Thanks - gorgeous strap and watch, Panerai and straps....lol!

For better precision the lugs should have been connected to each other via a screw mechanism so they aligned perfectly before you insert them into the watch case. A marking on the lugs would ensure the right spot and torque.

Um no. It works perfectly fine as it is.

where to buy those little screws that goes in the wire lug? thanks
@es27294 жыл бұрын
We recommend calling a Panerai boutique, the generally should have extra strap changing parts available!
@bryanryan45042 жыл бұрын
I dunno I'm a bit disappointed that the wire lug is not straight through. But only ends, like a "fake" wire lug. Wondering if this how it was traditionally or just a recent modern, cost cutting iteration of the radiomir wire lug?
@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bryan, in my experience the lugs on the wire lug have always had a little curvature to them. Did you notice they tend to stick out to the sides? I believe that is to help hold the lugs in place when in the case. Just takes a little extra work to get them in. - Elizabeth
@albertopolini19702 жыл бұрын
You don’t need to remove the screws completely to take off the lugs….it could be a big risk of loosing them

those lugs look so flimsy... if my kid pulls on my wrist those will rip apart in the middle
@WatchesbyOliverSmithJeweler4 жыл бұрын
They do look small and easy to move when pulled away from the case. But once screwed in there is not any movement. We have yet to see any pulled apart, but I guess that depends how strong your kids are!
