Thumbs up if you were eager with anticipation for seeing that spring bar shooting across the room at 10:26 😂 Great tutorial Adrian! I have yet to buy any of the paratrooper bands but I will definitely do this method when the time comes! And now I have to swap all my pressed clasps to milled...thanks a lot! Lol

Haha I was lucky that I didn't get a spring bar launch that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen to me though 😅 it was Jason (watchrolling) that got me into the elastic paratrooper straps they're so comfortable definitely recommend them. Yes no excuses now for not swapping out those pressed clasps, you know after watching this video you now have a youtube degree in how to!! 🤣🤣

I had to change a clasp on a 'jubilee' to a butterfly one as the normal clasp was too long and even with all the links removed it was too long, butterfly clasp sorted that out. I wear the elastic straps same as you.

I dont mind Citizens pressed clasp as long as the bracelets half decent but after a certain point they should be milled. I bought a really nice racing chrono for $499 the other day and it had a pressed clasp! Luckly I like you swapped it out for a 20mm promaster clasp I bought from fleabay.
@somewhereintimewatchreviews
@somewhereintimewatchreviews Жыл бұрын
To be fair Citizen bracelets at that $500 ish pricepoint are usually pretty good quality generally better than the ones we get from seiko so I guess swapping out the clasp is a bit more forgivable, I tend to keep a bit of a stock of 18mm & 20mm milled clasps for just that reason. Thanks for watching.

This was simple enough. You just remove and reset the springbars. But, that is not the point. The outer pieces of old and the new clasp are both pressed. Only the two inside parts of the new clasp are milled. But, the problem is that only the outer part of the old clasp has the brand logo on it. And, I would like to keep the old outer piece, because of the brand logo. Which would mean takiong apart not the bracelet, but both the new and the old clasp, to take out the outer piece of the old one with the logo and the two inside pieces of the new clasp, which are milled. And to create the best possible clasp for the watch. That, I am sure, would not be easy. I don't think we are talking only about removing and reaplying springbars anymore, but cutting pieces of steel and I am afraid that would require watchmaker's intervention.
@somewhereintimewatchreviews
@somewhereintimewatchreviews 2 жыл бұрын
To be completely honest I don't think that many people would be too worried about keeping the brand logo on the safety catch or the outer shell of the clasp & if anyone really wanted the fully milled clasp including the outer shell they are available but obviously at an increased cost. You get what you pay for! The point of the video wasn't to show the different types of milled or pressed parts but show which parts need to be removed & how that is done & how easy it is to swap out a clasp with minimal tools & experience, which is the video that I was asked by a subscriber to produce. But you are indeed correct that if you really want to keep a brand logo on the clasp trying to swap the outer clasp casing & installing an aftermarket milled centre does not work. I have tried & they never fit together.
