You just saved me with this! With your help I figured out which part to order and how to change it when it arrives. Thank you!

Thank you I needed this lesson.

You can use the old switch as template to make a rubber gasket that can be fitted between switch trim and metal panel. An old tire tube might work or soft sponge foam packing used in insulation

Did you have any problems disconnecting the switch? Did you have to pry it off with a flat tip screwdriver 🪛 or anything? Having a problem disconnecting my switch from my DR Power XL30, it’s the exact same switch you got except different color.

Should be a clip you pull off

@@SouthernStyleLawnCare believe me I have tried pulling it off. It’s like stuck. Afraid I might cause more damage or something. I have to try & pry it off.

What symptom did you have to cause replacement of this PTO switch?

So how did you get the switch out of the plug?

yeah those pto switches are pretty easy to change out. I am actually running a giveaway for a bundled package of super clean. If interested head over to my channel and check out the video I put out on Saturday.

I'm going to show you how to do the easy parts, but I'm going to skip over the harder parts. LOL! It's the "popping out" part that we all wanted to see - the part you skipped. 🙂

There are two plastic push side. Squeeze them in and it pops right out

@@SouthernStyleLawnCare I can't get my fat fingers in from behind to depress the "plastic push sides" under the Grasshopper control panel. Can you get the switch to release from the front? Also, the plug also must have some kind of locking mechanism, too. I tried just pulling it off the switch from underneath (since I can't get the plug out) but that doesn't seem to work. What's the trick?

On a tractor like the HDS 2135 it's not so easy to get to to be able to push all 4 tabs in - wanted to see if there was a trick or special tool to do that. Not enough room to get pliers, channel locks in there and too tight to just use fingers.

You omitted things I need to know. Your video was not helpful

Agreed. People always skip over the difficult or awkward steps - which are the parts we need help with. I suppose they don't want us to see them struggle - but if they are struggling with a part - we probably will, too. And it would be helpful to see how they eventually overcome the problem.
