I have a 2017 Camaro 2SS. Just got my full set of performance rotors and brakes delivered. I purchased a 3 ton jack and stands about a month ago. Watched several videos and thought I was ready to go. Then found your video and found out what the others did not show or mention...that pinch weld jack accessory. Of course noone selling anything like that locally. So now I have to decide. Just like you I can get that same part next day..or wait nearly a week to get a different more permanent model. Can't believe a simple thing like that is holding up my brake job. Zl1 add ons sells lift pads that you can leave on the pinch welds permanently so you don’t have to worry about someone screwing up your car when it gets worked on

Hey Q hope all is well. I hope you torque all the wheel down with a torque wrench it is important to keep the brake rotors from worping. causing the brake pedal to vibrate. I wish I knew you were doing that you could have came here we would have had in done in 20 mins I have air tools. Mine is going in to the detail shop tomorrow to get clean and have the paint perfected and ceramic coated hope it come out well. Tip on Camaro 6th gen you can on lift two tires at the same time front he front but not the rear. Not sure why. Take care my friend....

@@QueTheChaotic It's just a torque wrench you only need one LOL. If you ever have question on working on your car let me know I used to be a ase master mechanic. Back in the day I am not afraid of anything when working on cars. Been doing it since I was 16.Take care my friend and go to autozone and buy a 1/2 drive torque wrench look up specs online for your car.... LOL

The car is high because the magnetic dampers won't compress while the car is off. Once you drive it around it will correct itself. Nice video though, thank you.

Im taking off my cars tires for the first time, so I wanted to do some research first. I know I have to use the jack to lift the car, but Im still not really sure where on the cars frame to put it. Are all jacks like that one or are some different? How much do I need to tighten the lugs? And what is the safest way to lower the car once Im done?

They operate the same in general. The owners manual should tell you where to jack the car up at. while it's in the air, I wouldn't tighten all the way. Just enough to not move the whole car and finish when it's on the ground. Very slowly release the handle to lower

Those were 18s. Completely different setup but they cleared the brembos for winter tires

I ordered these from Wild Hammer. I had it installed at a collision shop. I don't know if he used the screws that came with them. I also drove the car in salt and snow

I got the same set up as you and planned on lifting and putting jack stands in the same spot. I have two extra jack stands though. I want the entire car up in the air though on all four jack stands to do other maintenance. At that point, with the one side up on jack stands, could I just go over to the other side and safely jack up the other side using the same process?

I still use it. It seems fine to me. This is the only one that I have ever used. ZL1 ad on seems to be the go to though

Jack pads were properly placed, but plenty of places sell the ones that you can attach permanently. However, I WOULD NOT place the jack stands where he placed them in this video which is straddling the pinch weld… you risk damaging the car doing. That is why they sell the jack pads to avoid doing that. There are better options mentioned in other videos.

That’s the location Chevy states to use in the manual. They sell jack stands with cutouts for the pinch welds
