Sounds like a pulley issue mate, dont think a new belt is going to help..

@valhallavw it turned out that my mechanic may have less tighned the pulley which resulted in the belt almost slipping off.

@streambhai9444 I've done that. That's why I triple check everything now. Better to be safe. Glad you got it sorted.

Hi, thanks for the guidance. My alternator belt just snapped! With the alternator bolt, when you say “the bolt just needs to be undone to allow the alternator to be pushed back”, do you loosen the bolt then push the alternator back towards the bulkhead? Or towards the front of the car? I’m a bit confused about the alternator part, please can you explain further? Many thanks

Hello mate sorry to hear about the belt. Once bolt is undone the alternator should move toward the front of the car. This will allow the new belt to be fitted and then once it's on, push alternaor towards bulkhead to take out the slack. May need a small bar to get tension on the belt. 🤙 Glad vid helped and thanks for watching and supporting the channel 👍👍

Thanks mate much appreciated. I have successfully changed the belt this afternoon. You were right it is a complete pig to loosen the adjuster bolts! I also have an air compressor unit which is directly below tensioning bar which made it even more of a nightmare but accessible by taking the plastic under tray off completely and going in from the side. I certainly had fun like you say 😂. Nice one thanks again! 🤟
