April 2023. Thanks. We plan to change the engine air filter on our 2021 Civic EX as it reaches 12k miles. We appreciate your taking the time to film and produce this video.

5/11/23. I'm an old guy -- having maintained at least 18 different vehicles since age 16 -- and this was the EASIEST MAINTENACE JOB I've ever done! The four screws that you mention stay fixed to the housing and don't get lost. We have the 2021 CIVIC EX (1.5 Turbo). I commented here several days ago, but decided to change our engine air filter at 16,800 miles for scheduling convenience. In fact, I replaced it this morning, using an EcoGARD XA10498. The process went smoothly. Thanks again.

Great video! Dealership wanted $90 for cab air filter & they never even mentioned the engine air filter in that price! Bought both for less than $20 on Amazon.

My dealer were aholes. $215 to replace both filters and they made sure to tighten the bolts to my engine air filter as tight as possible so i couldn't replace it myself. Spent $35 for bothbfilters and did it myself.

Wow, it’s sad how dealerships treat loyal customers 👎🏽. Glad you were able to change the filters out yourself, properly, and at a fraction of the money 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Hi james! Thanks for the vid. Just a question. Does performance air filter really give significant perfomance boost? (For example K&N Air filter)

What do u do when the screws are stuck? I used an 8 mm screw bit and it doesn't want to lose up
@JamesFixIt Жыл бұрын
If they won't budge while using a screw bit, try moving onto a longer arm ratchet, or even an impact wrench to break them free. You can (lightly) spray something like WD40 or PB Blaster to assist with that.

I disconnect the cable for mistake and a lot of check engine light come out of course a connected again but the lights still there? What i can do?
@JamesFixIt Жыл бұрын
Just verify that the disconnected cable is fully seated, and it should go away on its own (if that is in fact the issue). You can also try to disconnect the battery, then reconnect to let the system reset.
