How to change alternator on 94 Chevy C1500 + JS Alternator upgrade

If I am not mistaken the Sense wire aka S wire connects the alt positive post. That will turn off your battery light

⁠hey man i got a alternator with a three wire tail and got not a clue where they go the s wire makes sense but the other two just don’t make sense to me i read the paper that came with the alternator quite a few times

If the voltage fluctuations are not because the wiring or alt, I had this problem once. Turned out the mechanic over tightened the alt. Pos nut past the required 10ft.lbs and twisted the connection inside the alt. Took the alt apart to find the issue

The battery light is bc one pin on the oe pigtail that needs to be grounded aka dummy light, I'd talk to the guys at JS about the voltage fluctuation

They send u the new plug cause u have to hook one of the wires to the ignition and the other wire to the positive of the altinator not sure which ones

The blue wire to positive on alternator so it tell computer how it function

Thanks for the video. I bought a 95 Cadillac fleetwood with one of these installed and my charge battery light stays on. Would you happen to know what could be my issue?

I painted them with translucent metalic red "metal cast" in a spray can on a bare metal valve cover. Make sure you get all the swirl marks out of the valve cover cuz they will show through

You can go to JS alternators website and type in year, make and model

Not hating on JS but try out brand X they will always fit correctly unless your doing something super custom

You removed a CS130 alternator and replaced it with a AD style alternator. Thats why its has different plugs and no external fan

Red wire pin attaches to positive post on alt, wow didnt know u could switch the pins from old harness to new one🤣🤦🏻‍♀️
