How To Change Astro / Safari Brakes Rotors and Bearings

Windy day today but we move forward and change the brakes, rotors, and bearings on a 1997 GMC Safari (RWD). The rotor and bearings are one single piece. The rotor consists of an inner bearing and an outer bearing. To back the bearings we used a Lisle Bearing packer. The brakes are made by Powerstop (z23) and are not too difficult to replace

At 6:50 I forgot to mention that you should grease the inside of that hardware, same with the small o ring across it. Also grease the side pin that goes through. Clean the rotor with brake cleaner to remove that "factory protective layer."

Absolutely fantastic and environmentally correct video about the Astro van brakes as a side note I had to replace my bearings several times I think because my alignment was bad and the book actually says to load the bearings at 15-in-lbs and then loosen it off and then go by feel I believe I ended up loading mine and then checking it again after I drove on it I believe that's the best way

If you have to install the race manually, do you grease the inside of the rotor before installing race and then grease the bearings too?

you can lightly grease the inside, in order for the race to slide in more smoothly
