Love the video and love the attention to detail I’ve been doing KZbin for a number of years and I thought you did an excellent job could’ve sped up some of the parts where you’re not really doing anything but taking something out of a package or removing a cover. You’re definitely the type of person that will figure that out over time. Great job I would like to recommend that you put the jack at the corner edge of the back part of the transmission pan then remove the crossmember then put your jack stand underneath the tail shaft. Just a thought since you’re not trying to jack up the transmission by the transmission pan you’re just using a block of wood under your Jack . And the edge of the transmission pan would’ve been certainly strong enough to hold the transmission up until you were able to secure it down onto the transmission tail shaft. I would also like to say that it appears and I can’t remember the exact model of this transmission but it looks to be the same as in the jeep commander grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300 if I remember correctly….. But I would have to go back and look

Hello. we recently purchased a 2015 Adventurous TS (2014 Mercedes Sprinter 3500 Diesel chassis with automatic transmission) with 30k miles on a trip from Oregon to So. Cal and noticed driving when driving usually 65 mph+, it downshifted by itself to 4th gear. Sometimes, momentarily shifting into Neutral and back to Drive, would fix the issue. But a few times it lost the ability to accelerate and we had to pull over and idle or shut off the engine for 10-15 minutes, presumably to cool down the transmission. Then it would run normally. Also, when driving 55mph lower, we didn't see the problem. Have you seen this before? If so, any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your input.

The drain plug was on there so tight that even torching it for 10 minutes wouldn’t loosen it up and I broke three 5 mm hex bits sockets trying to open it and it wouldn’t even budge. Do I just replace the whole oil pan? I’ve tried three different brands of new hexbits and they all broke! Maybe an impact one would be better? Or will those also just snap off like erasers? I don’t have an impact gun so is there also one that will fit on my ratchet that is of impact quality?

Let you man. About two weeks ago I bought 2007 dodge esprinter 3500 to a guy name Hones hardy wayne on craigslist Portland. Three days later motor made very hard noise inside the engine. Took it to dealer they want 18k for new engine. Took it to McCoy sprinter Center told them about the engine and also ask them to check oil transmission and they say need transmission too. Total 22k .I told I can't do it and called towtruck. To all of this even though it had that sound I could still turn it on and park. Now it turns on but it doesn't move at all. Here comes my stupid question if you can help me. Is it because they dumped the transmission oil and they didn't put it back. One more stupid question. Would it be worth it to put this parts? I had never had this type of ban . I am so frustrated for this situation. Any comments for good or bad are welcome. Thank you

I work on sprinters and I always try to find ways to remove the least amount of parts. You can do this whole job without removing anything like the crossmember or lifting the transmission. You have to bring the transmission pan in sideways all the way from the drivers side at a 45 degree angle just to get the lip of the pan past the crossmember in front of the transmission. You cannot do this with the filter attached to the valve body. the new filter is slid into place once the pan is almost flush. you can easily see if you've inserted the filter or not from the back. The cheap filters don't clip on very well which makes it a little more annoying, but the pan will not go up unless the filter is inserted (the pan keeps the filter inserted). By the way, all transmission issues I've had were all fixed with a new conductor plate, the speed sensors are almost always the culprit. The scanner confirms the communication issues, but I've noticed the conductor plate starts failing above 200k miles.
