Hey hey, I have a Mazda B2500, did my shocks today, going to get my ball joints and possibly wheel bearings done myself as well. Just slowly picking up the tools spread out over a couple months to get it all done. Big shout-out to the KZbin community, working on cars has become a new interest of mine.

On Ford rangers, most (if not all) require you to replace the upper control arm. The upper ball joint and control arm are a single piece.

Most boots have a small hole in them to allow air to escape as you fill them with grease. Once the grease comes out of the hole, it’s full.

I'm no mechanic but you never just let the caliper hang. Use rope, wire or bungee cord to support it.

If it can handle 1400 pounds of brake pressure, it should be just fine.
@joseaguinaga76703 жыл бұрын
@@ZHPGarage is hose pressure, not pressure from the weight of the caliper, two diferent things.Other than that good video , well explained.

I actually stopped watching at this point. You NEVER let a caliper hang from the flex hose, you risk tearing the hose.

@@ZHPGarage talk to any real mechanic who knows what he is doing and ask him if is ok to let the caliper hang. 1400 psi of oil - on the installed positionif you hang the danm thing (caliper) by the hose, that is a different story.

I was wondering. I just ordered my parts to change the lower ball joints and upper control arms. When I ordered I put in the wrong engine size. The parts are on the way.... does engine size matter, when you replace suspension parts?

Not in this case of these style Ford Rangers, it shouldn’t matter.
