The ones who dislike 1. Jealous mechanics who lack the charisma, dedication, and hard work to make a channel like this 2. Selfish mechanics who have a hard time simplifying or even sharing this knowledge with the general public 3. Competing KZbin mechanics who can't do it like Chris 4. People who use a different brand of threadlock or ratchet set 5. People mad Chris doesn't have boobs to look at

8:48 turn the C-clamp upside down to install it easier. Remeber, it's a system with 2 opposing pressure points, so the force upon them is identical no matter which way the C-clamp is pointed. 9:38 the sharp edge of the snapring should be pointed down so if the press fitting looses tension from extreme use, the snap ring will bind in the groove and help prevent separation. 9:44 tap around the snapring with a flat blade punch and a small hammer to make absolutely sure it is fully seated in the groove. Probably best to install the grease zerk last so u don't damage it during CV/knuckle maneuvering.

+Brian Ramuno, I cannot reply to your comment for some reason but I hope you see this. I dont know what springs you need to compress. You are not taking the control arm off, you are just moving the knuckle out of the way. I will have a new video next Thursday working on another car to show you the similarities and difference in removing the ball joint and pressing in a new one. If you watch the video, that is what you need to do to press out a ball joint.

Hello Chris, I'm done. First one took 3 hours, second one was 55 minutes. The solution I used for the stuck tapered ball joint was an old gear puller, penetrating oil, and two 5 second blasts of electronic parts cleaner and lube,(much like Freon, gets real cold). Waited about two minutes and it popped out on its own. Just got it all aligned and tires rotated. Thanks again for the great! video.Your camera work, editing, and syntax really pull it all together, You saved me a boat load of funds. Dave

Great and very informative video, thanks! One small thing; when loosening the hub nut, to avoid possibility of wheel bearing damage, it's a good idea to partially lift the car so you've still some friction to counter undoing the nut, but most of the load isn't on the bearing. This was from a VAG workshop manual. Don't know if it applies to other manufacturers. Just something to be aware of. I think it also may only apply to non-driven stub-axle types, don't remember 100%.

The only thing that's changed in the last 6 years is the pace and tone in which ChrisFix talks. The quality is still 10/10, even for the early stuff like this. Doing it right the first time, every time.

IMO this is an excellent video; informative, perfectly shot and edited. I am not an auto mechanic but this video helped me understand the process. Being informed helps us, the regular citizens, to pay the fair price for this and, in general, just about any other repair (auto, home, personal services, etc.). My auto mechanic is an honest and well trained individual but it never hurts to remind him I already know what he is going to do. Thank you.

+Oscar Gomez You're not an auto mechanic. Exactly. Therefore your opinion of this video is based merely on presentation, not accuracy. Don't try to show up your professional and honest mechanic. He will merely shake his head and laugh at you when you leave. UGH!

I know very little about vehicle repair/maintenance but I somehow ended up here after typing "how do ignition coils work" in the search bar. Awesome, video mate!! Very clear and concise for rookies like me. I just subscribed and will work through your videos in the coming weeks. Cheers for all the work you put into your videos.
