Damn!! Thanks yo. Im an outdated automechanic and truck driver. This is easier than car brakes.. just bigger and heavier. I will say 1 thing tho. Brake on a Mercedes benz (i had a big S class) were prolly the easiest in the world lol

Personally I feel every time the shoes are replaced. Usually they both worn together, so why not start fresh. If one wants to reuse, check the inside specifications of the minimum when considered out of specifications.

It's usually a good move to just cage the chamber instead of messing with the slack adjuster
@shawnevans9106
@shawnevans9106 3 жыл бұрын
Why? Supplying air to the chamber would do the same. There are only two reasons to cage the brake chamber. 1. To allow a truck with a failed chamber to make it back to a shop. 2. To install a piggy back. You will still have to adjust the slack adjuster once you install new brakes anyways.
