🔴In this video I will be changing the front brakes and discs on this 2017 Chevrolet Cruze 1.4 liter turbocharged engine. If you have a growling or grinding noise coming from the front of the car when you press the brakes, it could be time for you to change your brake pads and rotors. Fix noisy brakes, stuck guide pins, uneven brake pad wear, rusty rotors, pulsating brake pedal with the procedure in this video.
If you have comments or question feel free to let me know.

@@OneTrickTech It took me 3 days to complete the brake job, as every bolt was put on with blue lockete, even the lug bolts. Also the of the 14mm bolts was stripped out, and had a terrible time getting it out. But, all the bolts were cleaned with a wire brush on my grinder so when the brakes will need to be done will be much easier. Thanks again for the helpful videos. HABD

Thanks for this detailed video. Have you changed the antifreeze yet ? If so could you make a video ? No need to do it again , just show what has to be done step by step. Is there a rad drain ? Is there a bleeder screw to get the air out ? etc Thanks

You forgot to mention to put brake pad having the thickness clip on inside pad at the top. Brake bolts need to be torqued to 74ft-lb and caliper bolts need to be torqued to 21ft-lbs

Is there a tire order that is recommended? For example, start with the tire closest to the brake master cylinder and do the tire farthest from the cylinder last. Also , do you remove the cap to the brake mster cylinder before compressing the piston?
@OneTrickTech
@OneTrickTech Жыл бұрын
No you can start wherever. The order you're referring to is when you flush the brake fluid, but in this case we're only changing brake pads and rotors. And no need to remove the cap on the master cylinder.

What would happen if I don’t put the brake pad springs back? I may have lost one. I was doing the brake job at night. I will go outside in the morning and look for it. Hopefully I will find it.

its to help retract the pads from the rotor after braking and also prevents them from getting stuck because of rust and corrosion

How were you able to remove that top caliper bolt? Can't get enough clearance to get it off. Anyone have any tips or tricks so I can avoid taking it in to a shop?

you can turn the steering wheel to expose the caliper bracket bolts and also use a short 21mm socket, it can help too.

So I just ran amongst this problem and I got the swivel adapter with a m18 torque gun and nothing. I had to get a breaker bar to get it lose and then with the gun. Took me forever on one side but the other side was all done under 20 minutes.

As you pushed the piston inward, it creates air bubbles in the tubes. Therefore, you should also bleed the brakes.

You would have to remove the brake line from the caliper for air to enter the brake system. Going by your theory air would enter every time the cylinder moves.

As you push the piston inward you want to have the bleeder screw opened just a little so you don’t push burnt brake fluid in the line it can cause problems with abs system
