nice video. although way more work than you need to do. you can get the hub out without taking the spindle out by moving the cv around when its loose to expose each of the hub bolts. if its still stuck and you need more room to beat it out from behind remove the cv axle shaft. will likely need to take the heat shield off thats above the cv to have the room to shimmy it out.

Great video, very informative! I tried and failed to do the wheel bearing on my 2010 Seat Exeo (same as Audi B7) earlier today - the bolt holding the top two suspension arm ball joints (@4.20) and the bolt at the steering ball joint (@4.42) are seized solid. I'm going to have to persevere with the steering ball joint bolt, but I think I will have to remove the whole strut and top arms all together, which means the coilover shock will have to be removed, along with the triangular top shock mount, as it looks like I will not be able remove the inner bolts holding the top suspension arms, as there's no room to withdraw the bolts.

Just remove the axle (easy job bolt job on your car) and use bolt holes with correct pitch screws of the hub to pull first the wheel bearing out of knucle, then secure it back and pull the hub of the bearing by using exact same wheel bolt holes. If you can’t get correct pitch screews just use smaller bolt and holt it with nut. Should have watched waaaay more videos before attempting this job, not just this cut away crap which doesn’t show the hard bits

I have seen a couple references state that these both are 60 ft lb then you have to do 90° further is that true? If so it was not covered in your tutorial and might be needing more torque they are stretched to yield bolts

You don't need to mess with any pinch bolts or ball joints or remove the entire wheel upright or even mess with a bearing press. Just remove the axle bolt, pound the axle inboard to get some clearance so that you can get a tool on the 4 bearing housing mounting bolts and replace the entire hub/bearing module as a unit. The wheel upright stays in place.

@@autodocuk If anyone is having trouble with the bearing nut at 0:31, I have an impact, and it would still not budge. Take a blow torch, and heat the outside of the nut, for about 5 minutes, and comes off easy.
