Mechanics 🔥 10/10. I would let you work on my Phaeton happily. Just looking at this job I have to do. I'm going to split the lower joint, move driveshsft out and use the bearing wind in tool without having to take hub off to the press. I hope.

Well you made that look easy! Wasn’t quite so easy when I tried to do it! Bolts and nuts that wouldn’t budge and an ABS sensor that broke in to bits when I tried to remove it. Now waiting for a new ABS sensor from you before i can reassemble!

We cannot show all the nuances and problems when replacing, this is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend that replacements be made at specialized services.

this is a good tutorial given all the bolts and pieces are nearly new on the car however, doing this on a car which has been used for years is very different. the suspension strut bolts will be seized and will likely take 2 hours to free. the bolt heads usually round off and need to be ground down then the bolts punched out the Bottom ball joint 12mm bolt will likely sheer off and need to be drilled out the driveshaft is usually seized in and needs a great deal of persuasion to get it out, be carful not to pull the shaft out of the gearbox and loose the oil. lastly the ABS bolt will sheer off and the ABS sensor is likely so snap as its sized in with corrosion. The bearing will be sized and probably will not press out easily neither will the splined drive so be prepared to have to cut these out and shrink the bearing shell with a weld. once its all cleaned repaired and painted putting it back on is a 30min job. Not for the DIY without a good set of tools and some good experience.Beware that this will take about 8 to 12hours or more if you need to order and replace bolts, bushes and ABS sensor and the ball joints. Have fun

Never EVER spray copper grease onto the brake disk, use a brush as you will contaminate the pads. No amount of brake cleaner will decontaminate them. Lazy arse mechanic there.

Driven my panda for 13 years, already had 8 years on it with 90k miles, now 215k and still running lovely. Costs nothing to run and maintain and not over loaded with sensors waiting to go bad.
