I would strongly suggest also replacing the short sections of hose and all of the clamps at the same time as the filter. My cay was leaking from the hose, which had rotted away.

Not every e36 have the filter in that location. My 93 320 got it under intake manifold... A real mess to replace

Be aware when you take the fuel line holders and stuff you can’t put it back on so make sure to order them already
