How to Change GG1000 Mudmaster Battery Casio G-shock - set time and fix misaligned analog hands

A complete walkthrough on how to change Casio G-Shock Mudmaster battery. Bonus: how to set up the watch after battery change or when newly purchased. Also how to fix misaligned analog hands.
You'll need:
1 - Phillips screwdriver size 0
1 - HEX screwdriver size 2.5mm (same as 3/32)
2 - Two SR927SW batteries (same as 395/399)

your’e changing batteries, there’s no need to lift those tabs up. like you said those hold the module in place. just pry the batteries and change it.

Very nice video, well thought out, nicely filmed and narrated. My battery change went well, but during disassembly one of my Phillips screws started to strip. I switched from the P0 to a P00 driver and the smaller Phillips easily grabbed the screw that started to strip. I finished assembly with the P00 and the screws fit really well. As a former jeweler, that was a huge 'party foul' setting the dial and hands on a cloth and sliding it (cringe)! Why did you skip the Step shown on the STICKER? It tells you on the sticker what to do. Stick one end of the tweezers in the hole contact (+), the other on the back where it says: (-).

This is the battery change equivalent of the #VergePCbuild And this is the reason we ALWAYS take our watch to a specialist, in order to change the batteries. WHY did you pull the module out of the watch??? WHY did you put the module face-down on a microfiber cloth?? WHY did you skip cleaning the inside of the case from dust?? WHY did you skip reseting the watch after battery replacement, by shorting (AC) and (-)

@@thecreeper6799 usually the digital part of the watch acts strangely and doesn't show all parts of the digits on the lcd display. Once you reset it, everything works If casio bothers to put a sticker with reset instructions inside the watch, it means it is that important ;)

Dude, why did you have to raise the tabs inside, wouldn’t it be easier to pull the sticker covering the battery while the tabs are still holding the module so the entire module doesn’t come off the watch housing?

Nice tutorial, though a pitty you messed up your minute hand by taking the watch out of the frame, and there you placed it with the vulnerable hands down on the fiber cloth and could have damaged the hands seriously! But you managed to get some dirt on....

I don't think you need to remove the movement from the case in order to replace the battery. As others have noted, you risk getting dust in there.

I just bought a GG 1000 used and when I went to change the battery, it’s missing the two gold springs and the plastic retaining ring that goes around the movement and it’s also missing that grey rubber piece. I’ll pay up for those parts if you’ve got them!!

Thanks for the video. I decided to change the batteries on my own it was harder than I thought lol. I took it completely apart except for the module. Had a heck of a time putting it back in. I eventually got it and I cleaned the inside of my watch too. I figured what the heck i already got my greased paw prints all up inside it. Got it back and running like new. I also used neosporin to lubricate the rubber o ring.

invest in a movement holder. Very cheap and easy to use. Laying face down on any cloth is disastrous. Also rubber finger cots are watchmaker friend.

Every tutorial begins the watch time setting with the mode arrow already in the time mode. I did find one wherein the time mode was off but zeroed back to 12 o’clock as I explained before. I followed the tutorial to the letter 20 times in the past 2 days however when He pressed the adjust button his mode arrow moved to the “time” position but mine will NOT.

You might need to do a AC reset..... you’re right, the hands should all be aligned to the 12 position and should return to correct position after exiting HSET.... it doesn’t sound like they’re stuck because they wouldn’t move at all when adjusting them. Try the AC reset.

Michael Kish as long as you're careful by placing the rubber ring in the right position you'll be fine. No need to pressurize. Changed plenty of batteries without waterproof issues
