Few updates to this video that may help others. I have a 2016 model. Drain plug - 17mm box wrench. Filters - 24mm short socket w/ swivel extension. Breather nut - Hex 8mm ( 1 of mine was frozen and it stripped. Beat in an M12 triple square bit, using impact wrench came right out) Thanks to the author. Saved me alot of time.

Make sure your hydro belt is in good shape and tight. It should be a little difficult to get on the idler with the idler pushed all the way to the stop position. New belt solved my severe shaking. Thanks again for the video and comments.

Make sure you get one with kawasaki. Kohler engines are junk. Ours blew the engine at 271 hrs. No warranty due to age. $3500.

@@McGo101 Yes it is great . Well, i have 725 hours on the mower. left side does not work when engaging the arm. Change the fluid filters were in bad shape. Going to have to pull the transmission on the left side. Pretty defeated right now.

@@wade8418 hmm If u can get it to a reputable dealer I'd try to have it diagnosed first. U might get away changing a small part on the Trans or elsewhere. My local bota dealer helped me sort out my valve adjustment issue within an hour shop time

I guess you could say I'm an amsoil nut. I put amsoil in all my vehicles you might want to check it out they're hydrostatos like $10 a quart compared to that Parker $20 a quart and it's probably better all but anyway good talking to you take care

Thanks my friend. I got a z23 and 24 I use at work and I inherited this job and the machines last year and recently took them out and they were running okay but seems that they would do better with the oil changed. It looks pretty dark to me and there's no record of when it was last done. These zero turns are new to me but love the abuse they can take and keep on moving but I want to keep them that way as long as possible. These machines have over 800 hours each.

Good video, but... A hydraulic jack in the grass and no jack stands as a back up?????
@McGo101
@McGo101 4 жыл бұрын
Yes I should have used stands but I didn't have any at the time. That is a 3 ton jack so I was not to concerned. Good practice to always use them tho you are right
@pldrouin
@pldrouin 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I would certainly not crawl under that machine with it lifted from a single point, particularly from a soft ground. The Jack might be plenty strong, but my concern would be for the machine to tip when working under it... Otherwise thanks for the video!

@@McGo101 the issue isn’t the weight rating of the jack it’s the fact that if a seal blows and it loses pressure it’s coming down on you.

Oem Kubota ones right from the dealer. Hydrostatic fluid was also specific iirc was Parker 1000 ht for these units.

Nice video. Please confirm the transaxle breather port screw size. I think you said T50 torx, but it looks like a female hex. Thanks
@McGo101
@McGo101 3 жыл бұрын
hey there. iirc i think it is a female hex head on the breather port screw. i think i used a torx bit just because i had a longer extension on the torx bit to get down to the screw. either will work if you can get the tool down there. i just dont recall the size exactly off hand. my apologies.

I bought a z726x with a 60 brand new and the right hand trans was acting up. I drained the Trans oil out and it was full of shards of aluminum. The shop replaced the entire transaxle. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to the left hand side only had 60 hrs. Hopefully this doesn’t happen on the left side, I had a 10 day down time period which sucks but at least they let me use my Deere I traded it. Have you heard about this happening on these types of machines before? I’m assuming it was screwed up during the manufacturing process and wasn’t anything I did. If I had to pay for this repair out of pocket it would have cost easily 1k.
@McGo101
@McGo101 3 жыл бұрын
yikes! no i have not heard about that one before. Like you said sounds like a manufacturing defect that early in her life. and yea im sure they are not cheap to fix out of pocket, hence why i opted to change my fluid out when i could. fluid that came out didnt look bad at 450 hrs on mine butthat peace of mind is beautiful. I used mine in the winter to plow snow as well, i got vids of that if u haven't checked them out. ps: price of the hydro fluid on these units is brutal hahaha

I would have cleaned it better. But hey that's me. Doing mine in the fall. Don't like the mower it's been nothing but a pain in my butt. I will never buy another Zero-Turn Kubota. Cost me over 12K and only have 300.3 hrs on it. I have changed the fuel pump, Two coils, Starter, and one spindle(should have lasted 1000 hrs they told me) I was going to trade it in and they were only going to give me 4200.00 for it. Always took care of it and it's in my barn and never left outside. Love my L3901 Kubota hell of a tractor. Just my thoughts.
