Tq specs:
17mm Outter Tie Rod to Lower Ball Joint castle nut = 43ft-lb
17mm bolts from hub to lower ball joint = 83ft-lb (both bolts)

Hello..I tried doing this tie rod change today on my 04 Lexus..I could not get the retaining bolt loosened for nothing. In the video, you say to go clockwise, but it looks like you are going counter clockwise to loosen the bolt? My vehicle was always garage kept, so there isn't any rust issues..I even gave it a few rounds of heat with the torch.. it would not budge. I gave up after 2 hours in, but I will be back for another round soon. Maybe I just didn't have the proper leverage to break it loose..

wow amazing i came across this. my mechanic told me my tie rod boot is ripped on 06 ls430. after seeing the quote i said f that i'll do it myself and then i find this lol thank you

Took me over a day to remove the rod and nut due to over zealous tightening by the garage mechanics. I eventually ground them off as they were too seized/cross-threaded. Nice to see how they should be when done correctly.

If the ball joint fails will the wheel still collapase outwards with this setup? As it still has 3 bolts connected.
