Thanks for this. I just got this camera and the light seal kit. It'll be my first time changing light seals so hopefully it goes well.

Awesome! Hope it goes well, it's not hard to do just take your time and when you're done you'll enjoy light leak free images for many years to come! When you get some photos from it be sure to tag me on Instagram (@dan.carr.sp) if you are on there.

Nice video! I have the 7SII as well, in Black, in Minty condition. She’s a beauty. I even have the Auto 14 Flash and original case for it. I also had to replace the light seals for safe measure. USCamera is where I go as well for all my light seal needs.

Thanks! It's a great little camera. Would be cool to have the flash and case.

Yeah i have 2 Himatics, in the process of doing the seals, one thing i will say is neither of my cameras have a seal at the other end of the rear door...no ssign there ever was one.

Ok, cool, thanks for the info. Mine seemed to have them so I put them in, if yours doesn't have them don't put them in.

Neat info will keep in mind for potential use. Read this model may develop wobbly lens. That track with you? If so, any easy fixes(super glue, duct tape, etc)? Thanks.

While my copy of this camera does not suffer from this it can happen, I have this problem on my Yashica Electro 35. The problem may be 2 things: 1. the screws that mount the lens to the body have come loose. 2. There is wear in the helicoid threads and/or wear in the tongue that the lens slides out on in helicoid. No real easy or quick fixes, both will require dismantling the camera to some extent. I'd send it into a repair shop and get a full CLA done on it or try and find a copy that does not have the problem as it might be cheaper. Hope this helps!

Interesting! One of my family members has a Yashica Minister that is in excellent condition, but the light seals have perished. I might see if I can change them over

Yeah do it Rob! I forgot to put the links for the seals in the description. I'll try to do it in the next couple of days.

After removing and cleaning the old foam, the only one really useful and to be changed is the foam on the side of the door...
@dan_carr8 ай бұрын
If you are going to do it why not do it properly? I'd much rather put it back to original than take shortcuts but each to their own.
@luc57988 ай бұрын
@@dan_carr I'm just saying that with most cameras, all you have to do is change the foam on the side of the door to stop the light leaking out... After that, you do what you want!

Hi Dan, what s the thickness for the foam type you use in the channels? Thank you
@dan_carr5 жыл бұрын
Hey, pretty sure they are 1mm, much thicker than that and you'll have trouble closing the door, 1.5mm might be ok.

@@dan_carr Cool. Thanks. You re video was very helpfull. I ordered some to replace the foam in my MInolta too.
