How'd you do this? I purchased a home w the same security system installed but it's obviously been deactivated and i don't recall seeing any paperwork with the master code left behind on it. However I do have the key to the wiring or security system utility box that says ademco on it. The chimes still work on it and I'm curious as to which smoke alarms are attached to this system to ensure that we are protected.

A word of caution for those having an old ADEMCO model 4110DL like me. For ADEMCO 4110DL, the prescribed sequence [Master code] + [CODE, i.e. button 8] + [0] + ... will take the alarm system right into programming mode. Pushing number buttons beyond that point will mess up the data already in memory fields. In my case, I wasn't even aware of that I was already in programming mode and kept trying to enter a new Master code, and eventually messed up many data fields, including the Dialer Programming fields (*41 - *49).

Google up the programming guide for your panel's model number. That can be found on the board itself inside the beige metal "can" as we call it in the industry. Look towards the top middle on the board for it. Once you google up the programming guide look for "alpha programming" in the fields section.

Sorry for my delayed response. I would contact the company the monitored the system for the previous owner. Usually they have their name and number on stickers found on the keypad and/or alarm control panel located in the laundry room, master bedroom closet or garage. Try the manufacturer installer code default of 4112.
