Good video, but you forgot to remove the screen and clean it off with brake clean or even some gas. If you look directly below the oil fill plug, all the way down at the bottom side, there will be a bolt that if you remove it, there's a screen in there. It catches all the gunk and debris in your engine case. I take mine out every oil change and clean it with brake clean. It's also a good way to keep tabs on what's going on inside tour engine!!
@doreenduncan34112 жыл бұрын
Do you really need to change the screen every oil change.
@Ghostman862 жыл бұрын
@@doreenduncan3411 I don't believe you need to CHANGE the screen every time, but it's good to remove it every time. See, that screen can tell you a lot about what's going on with not only your engine, but your clutch, and gear box. Idk, I'm certainly no expert on these bikes, but feel it can't hurt to take this out and clean it with every oil change.

I notice that you had the front wheel raised higher than the rear wheel. Was there a reason you did that? Would you still get an accurate level in the sight glass? I would've thought it would cause the oil level to read a little higher, as the oil would gather more in the back of the sump?

There is a prefilter screen that should be removed and cleaned. It is directly across from the drain plug on the left side.. You don't even need to remove the drain plug.. If you remove the plug for the screen it is a way better way to drain the oil. It gets it all because it's leaning that way on the side stand and it's the lowest point. Another plus is the regular oil drain plug strips out easy and the screen plug dosnt. To remove and clean.. Remove plug on left side (17 mm) use brake clean or another fast evaporating solvent to spray the screen. If never cleaned before it may have gasket material and metal flakes in it.. That's normal if it's never been done just clean it out put back in and fill with oil to 1/2 way between the lines..
