Brevity is key. Stop messing about and get to it! Choose your numbers, select Find from the Edit menu. Type the dash/minus sign in the Find field. Click Replace. Leave the Replace field blank. Click OK and confirm. Done. No math needed.

Here is another way. Highlight the cells you want to change. Click “find and select” in the “home” ribbon. Click “replace.” In “find what” put a negative sign. Leave the “replace with” box empty. Click “replace all.”
