Great video. Thanks. I laid under the car for 10 minutes looking for a traditional filter before I figured out that it’s a cartridge. Thanks.

Thank you so much!! I’m a girl and I’ve always been into cars but I didn’t have a dad around to teach me this stuff. I want to be able to do these kinds of things on my own! Thank you, I feel more confident after this video 😄

thanks for this! I was a bit confused to why auto parts stores were showing me cartridges only over a conventional filter. this will make my job next fortnight easier to do.

Never pay anyone to do it, they won't do it right if it's not their car. Especially if they don't know Mazda vehicles.

Excellent video and great and simple way to explain, a question I have a mazda 3 2005 engine 2.3 what type of oil is recommended to use for the car I want to do the oil change it has 166k miles
@RobbersVblog9 ай бұрын
Use a high mileage 5w-20 oil. I personally always put in a bottle of STP oil treatment also when I do mine..my 2004 mazda 3 has 225,000miles and still runs strong!

Great video. I noticed that when you started your car , on the panel the “check engine light” is on. I m asking because my mazda 3 2005 has about 63000 miles and the check engine light come on recently, i reset it once and came back again 3 days later. The car runs smooth as always. Any tips or tricks you may know before bringing my car to the dealer?

Go get the code read at any auto parts store to find out what it is..it most likely is a simple fix but they will tell you whats wrong..mine is on cause the thermostat is stuck open and I have a small EVAP leak..nothing serious
@evankirk59378 ай бұрын
You should never reset a code without reading and making sure it's not a serious code.

how in the hell do you only have 63K on that car? OMG, that's pretty impressive!!!

looks like someone has already stripped the hex or torx bolt on the oil filter, it seems tight and I don't think anything is leaking from that area, is it ok to just leave that in place? I took the oil filter plastic cap off with a specially designed cap socket and all the oil poured out doing that (yes it's messy but I didn't want to jack with the partially stripped hex bolt).? DO you think I'm good to go? I realize that the oil filter came with a small black rubber o-ring that would otherwise be put onto that fitting , but since I'm of the opinion that I should "Leave well enough alone" , it's just a question I have for you as far as if you think it's ok to do that? thanks in advance so much for your thoughts!!!
@RobbersVblog8 ай бұрын
You should be fine.. the o rings are designed to be replaced once removed..if its not leaking you should be good..

I have mazda 3 2005, the oil used was castrol 5w-30, im having my change oil again soon, and my mileage is up to 300,000kms. Should i still used 5w-30 again? Living in Australia. Thanks
@RobbersVblog5 ай бұрын
You should use 5w-20 but I would get a "high mileage" blend..also would suggest adding an oil treatment such as STP oil treatment.. Good luck!!

I stripped the allen plug on the oil filter. Any advice to get it ou?
@RobbersVblog Жыл бұрын
Get a larger allen and hammer it in the plug till it grabs it then get a replacement from the auto parts store.

@@RobbersVblog do they have those at auto-parts stores? I figured you'd have to buy the entire housing from the stealership

@@dabneyoffermein595 you should be able to get one from the auto parts store..might have to be ordered so check it out before you remove the old one so your not down a day or two..have the new one in hand first!!

Is it bad to use 10w-30 in my 2007 mazda 3?
@RobbersVblog Жыл бұрын
YES thats to thick..you need to stick with 5w20 otherwise the oil pump and filter will bog down causing damage to one or both pieces..$$$

@RobbersVblog Жыл бұрын
@@xXxmessixXx101 I would go to 5w 20 because with that many miles or kilometers your gonna want the oil to get to critical parts as fast as possible. The thicker oil will take longer to get in there creating wear on the bearings and other parts, plus the oil pump wont work as hard either. Best of luck! Nice conversing with you!
