How to change Oil on a Toyota Tundra (2013

At 5:11 it's plain to see that the slots on your oil filter cap wrench don't engage with the tabs on the oil filter cap. It looks like you're using the MX2321 wrench instead of the MX2320 wrench. The newest Motivx wrench has no slots on it and is precision engineered to fit the fluted part of the oil filter caps on all Toyota built engines with a cartridge system. Your works regardless, so no worries. Just make sure it's only torqued to 18 ft.lbs. and it shouldn't give you any trouble. There's no reason to change the small o-ring under the oil filter drainbolt unless you're draining the oil filter assembly before before removing it.

Yea I just changed the little ring out of habit. Didn’t need to do it. I don’t even drain out of the small cap. Yea I’m definitely using an older version of that tool. It wiggles a little bit still got it off. Gonna buy a new housing cap and motiv tool soon

The filters come with a drain valve saving that mess, look at the instructions with the filter. You do not need to remove the skid plate. If you do it's a real pain in the butt to reposition it. Remove the 10 & 12 MM bolts, and just lower its back with its hooks still in the core support. Ensure it's secure for the task, SHARP edges. You can support the bottom if you like. Get yourself a container with a handle on it to drain the filter. I have a 32 Oz container, works perfect. A 1.1/16" socket on the filter remover makes removing and installing the filter easy.

I came in from behind the tire and took the back 3 bolts of the skid plate out and it lays down with out coming completely off.
