The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

yea, the camera part could be a tiny bit better -- but I got what I needed, so thanks much for making this video! I have an older Coleman Powermate (the oil cap has no dipstick) and I think the manual says to pour oil until it starts to come out (paraphrasing) haha. I really need to do an oil change -- this snowstorm and high winds are making me think about it. Mine has a Subaru motor in it.

Yes keep the fluids fresh. But if you use a full synthetic, you do not need to use multi viscosity. Royal purple makes a straight wt oil. And this is what this motor requires Sae 30 w.

Best to warm the engine up first to heat the oil for better flow and mix any sediment so it gets drained out.

Also it sounds like it wants to start but it only runs for 30 seconds. Cant figure out what's going on cleaned the carb. New gas still the same. Can you help me out

Small engines are simple. If the carb is good, you've eliminated fuel and air. The only other thing you need is spark. Check the spark plugs, wire and gap. Without seating the spark plug in the engine, check if it sparks when you turn it over. If so, spark plug and wire is good.

Low oil level cutout. Check your oil level. If your oil is low it won't start.

Stick with the manufacturer specks vs car engine oils....Royal purple has a straight weight. . The stuff is bullet proof .

I noticed that Coleman sells an oil for their generators that is SAE 30. I would go with the 5W30 for colder climates. The manual suggests the SAE30 for temps above 40 F. That's not NY.

Anne Castioni I like to 0-40 it makes starting the thing up a breeze. 2 pulls and your not fighting thick cold oil. That oil is good enought to be required for Mercedes diesel engines it is good enought for this.

Hello Wayne, I am interested in knowing how the regulation of the output voltage of the generator. It is mechanical type? I have a small 850W, mechanical adjustment, however the output voltage fluctuates greatly: example 90-130 volts to output 127 Vac. In this 5000W generator voltage output is stable? David Risnik I know you asked 2 years ago but for future reference the optimal voltage is 110V-130V anything above or bellow is a problem, keep it as close to 120V as possible in order to avoid damaging any appliances connected to your generator.

Check the oil color. If its deep dark black you know it's been ran at least 250 hrs. if it's golden or bronze in color you got a deal! It should also start in 3 pulls.

Manufacturers single straight weight non detergent oils not multi grade oils. Don't believe me check your owners manual.
