Successfully navigated my tire change thanks to this video - thank you for this very clear step by step! Though I have to say that after putting 1200km on my Pint, this was not an easy process - dirt, grime, warping etc made taking parts off and putting them back on really challenging. If you’re gonna do this, be ready for some major frustration but definitely worth it to extend the life of this fantastic machine!

Great video. I feared doing this after reading all the comments but it wasn't nearly that bad. After two years and 775 miles I wore out my stock tire and had hoped to pick up a C&R Burris but they seemed to be out of stock on almost everything earlier this month so I grabbed a Hoosier instead. Had some trouble with some old Torx bits nearly stripping a screw but after that this was straightforward. The entire process of changing the tire once the wheel was detached from the board took about an hour. About 15 minutes to remove the old tire, about 20 to put the new one on, just a few minutes to set the bead, add slime, put the valve core back in and refill. I've never changed a tire on anything before, so if you're new to this process like me and are apprehensive, you can do it! It's not nearly as bad as you might be led to believe.

Thanks for sharing! Definitely good to use nylon pry tools instead of metal, but you got the job done. Also, I’ve got a video you might find helpful for future tire changes. ☠️🤙🏼

Thanks for this video! It was super helpful as I changed my first tire! The only thing I’d add is a note about beading. Your instructions for breaking the bead were great. I found beading today be quite tricky though. I’m the end I read a few discussions and learned to put the tire in a 5 gallon bucket and just keep filling over and over until it finally pops. Thanks again!!!

Thank you for this video! Does anyone have a recommendation for resolving chips of paint showing metal in the parameter of the wheel from using metal tools? Have a few rough spots wanted to make sure they don’t grind on the tire.
@rydebalance2 жыл бұрын
I know I should of mentioned this in the video but I didn’t. When using the metal pry bar I taped off the ends with some blue scotch tap as you can see in the video. This help prevent any scratches to the wheel. looking back I probably would of went with a nylon or plastic material over the metal 😄. As for the chip paints on the wheel… you can easily get any black paint from your local hardware store to cover up the chips. Hopes this helps all of you RAD 🤙 Onewheelers.

Hey great video! Can you tell me why I can’t screw in the bottom of the hub bracket? I’m having trouble getting the rails aligned as well
@rydebalance4 жыл бұрын
The hub are 2 small Philip screws and it’s easy to strip them if you don’t have the right screwdriver. I found it was helpful by attaching everything on one side to the rail then using 2x4 to help level the board and aligning and screwing in the other side of the rail. Hope that help.

Threaded tire? Or treaded tire 🤔
@shaykitoffe64113 жыл бұрын
(HELP!) Ever since I unassembled and reassembledy my Onewheel Pint. After replacing the tire. It now turns on by itself with a little tampering on the front and back sensors... or if I rock it back and forth. It turns on without the power button, after doing that.... and about the passed month It's turned off about 5 times by itself when I'm riding it. Had 2 pavement crashes, especially the 2nd one was pretty gnarly... is something possibly wrong with the wires? Like they're not fully plugged in? Or the battery's going bad now?

Has anyone tried to sipe a tire. Not sure how it’s spelled but it puts thousands of small cuts for winter driving?? Just curious it seems like it wound affect battery life but be better than a treaded tire almost like a trials tire? Let me know I’m curious.

Cringing with the metal pry bar.

Yeah to be safe it’s best to use plastic... I should of noted, I wrapped my with tape at the end to protect against scratching the rim.😀

Cant seem to seat the bead . I'm having a hard time with that part of the process. I think Ive tried 4 times already. I am using a cigarette lighter air compressor so I'm thinking its probably not helping.

For everyone watching this video, you WILL strip screws. This WILL be a ridiculous pain and you WILL consider throwing your Onewheel in the trash.
@kq8q2 жыл бұрын
Why do you say the screws will be stripped? Is it the axle bolts or the frame screws? Is the aluminum too soft or improperly tempered? Where should I use extra care not to over-torque?

very helpful video but I can't manage to pop the tire bead into the guides just by inflation
@rydebalance4 жыл бұрын
You’ll have to spray some tire lube then air it up... well over 100 psi it should pop in place.
@nicolacornolti77964 жыл бұрын
@@rydebalance I didn't want to inflate it that much because I've seen "max 4.0 bar" written on the tire. I eventually managed to do it inflating and deflating several times making it work in steps
