Very helpful video, when I’m at the track I always joke with my mechanic that real champions change their own tires and he never has time to teach me how to change them but now I can complete the joke and change my own tires

good video, but a couple of additions: - while inflating, it is correct that the rim has to point to the side in case of failures, but also keep your hands away if possible… just recently there was a guy that fractured his hand and wrist in three different places while popping on the tires and the rim burst. He had his hand inside the rim while inflating - do not exceed the max pressure of the tire while inflating/popping on. Often this is about 4-4,5 bar. Do not over inflate and 5-6 bar is often too much. Instead you can purchase a tire band/use some wide straps etc. that goes around the tire and helps push out the sides at lower presures.

@strykerjones88422 жыл бұрын
The “edge” you describe in the beginning of the video is actually the “rim”. The part that you refer to as the rim is actually the wheel. In other words the rim is the part of the wheel that forms the air tight seal. Not trying to be a know it all, just passing a little old man knowledge to the younger generation. Nice video by the way.

Nope, I just have the press and I don't think there are many tools. The tyres that I used in this video actualy have a decently hard wall
