Good video. The mechanic is calm af. No swearing, bloodied knuckles, or crawling under the car and fighting with rusted bolts.

This video let me save $400 and learn a bit about working on cars thank you! Also you should include some sledgehammer work. The only way the rotor will come off that easily is if it's brand new :)

Great video! just wish I knew what lubricants you applied to the bolts.

Thank you for the feedback! In this particular case, we used a copper grease for the hub, on the bolts we applied a lubricant that protects the threaded joint and fix it better. Best regards, Autodoc.

I’m not sure if this comment section is still active, but do you have any advice for getting the guide pins out? I find them very hard to get out of the rubber, and even harder to get back in. They warp anywhere with significant weather patterns.
@autodocuk4 жыл бұрын
No, the caliper guides can be pulled out very easily from this design, without any effort, as well as the anthers of these guides. Everything is just like in the video.

at 3:57 in your video, what is that spray and what does it do?
@kmier20005 жыл бұрын
Anti-seaze. Spray or paste. I actually can't find it anywhere in spray form.
@autodocuk5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! In this case we used a special copper grease spray 3970 Liqui Moly, it protects against corrosion and sticking of the parts operating at high temperatures. You can find this spray on our website, please , check www.autodoc.co.uk/liqui-moly/9678170?search=LIQUI%20MOLY%20Chain%20Spray%20Kupfer-Spray%20(3970) Best regards, Autodoc.

Two problems here, the music is annoying. Because of the no commentary, I didn't realise the tool to push the calliper back is a special tool that turns the piston whilst pushing it. Fortunately another video explained it for me.

@@R9anSmart mechanic that is one of the best videos I've ever seen that should complete detail on how to put them together question if you can comment back what is the two little pins on the outer outboard shoe used for and does it little square pads with the little wires on it go to the inside why is that not flat rather than having them the wires land across the piston just a strange system

Hello! Thank you for your question. To dismantle caliper guides, we used 7 mm hex bit. Best regards, Autodoc .

when you push the piston back its a good idea to check the fluid level in the master cylinder as this can rise due to the pistons being retracted.

Pretty nice video, but one important not-shown thing is that piston should be ”in-line” after it is rotated in with special tool, if not so, brake pad small ”pin” doesnt go in to piston notch and you get brake drag/hear/smell issue
