When pushing the piston back, only gentle pressure is needed. You MUST remove the electronic emergency brake cover (2 bolts) and manually unwind the driver to allow the piston to move. There are other videos showing this and it is really easy to do. No special tools need (I used a normal socket drive since only gentle force required to unwind e-brake, but I did not have the finger strength to grip it). This MUST be done for both rear brakes. You will not see any movement when you unwind the e-brake, but you can then easily press the piston back to make room for the new pads.

What ever works for you. I’m sure what you saying will work as well

Where is this located (electronic emergency brake cover)? I'm looking at doing this soon and don't want to miss anything. 2015 Evoque.

@@aycee1470 you can take the bolts of the back of caliper and unwind I assume that what you talking about, however I did not do that and it works just fine( unwind using brake tool I showed, do not use pressure tool). You can also use 12volt @ your own risk, remove electric plug from caliper connect 12 v to caliper input , switch positive and negative terminals to retract or release of caliper piston. To retract caliper, I would stick to what I showed on video, caliper tool is like $20 on eBay

@@garya1642 Thanks. I'm going to give it a go this weekend. Dealership wanted over 4K to replace rotors and brake pads...

Thanks for the video. Question - noticed you did not remove / adjust the electric parking brake. Any issues with that?

No it adjusted itself

The lower caliper slide pin is a right bitch. I had to use spanner on a small hex bit. Not a good design. I could not get torque wrench on bottom one. My epd white clip on connecter broke too. Not sure you can buy just the wire. Fronts are much easier

Connector will cost $145, bottom bolt is hand tightened

This is bullshit, you need to remove the park brake motor to be able to fully retract the piston.. do not follow this procedure
