Don't know where to start... Before compressing the piston, you should clean the surface around the gasket to prevent dirt from getting into the brake fluid and contaminating it. When installing new brake hardware, the contact surfaces between the brake pads and the hardware should be treated with suitable temperature resistant lubricant such as ceramic or carbon based paste (actually made for brakes). The two guide pins should be at least checked if they move freely and cleaned+lubricated with silicon if needed. This prevents the brake pads from getting stuck in future. Last but not least, you really shouldn't let the brake caliper hang down like that on the brake lines. Just putting unnecessary stress on them. Your video gives great perspective over the system but you absolutely kill it with such a neglectful job.

after watching Chris fix, I was like, no, don't let hang it by itself !!!

Totally agree with your comments Radek. Also, as has been demonstrated, the wheel was corroded onto the hub. The hub to wheel centring faces should be cleaned and lubricated. This bloke won't be going anywhere near MY brakes!!

Did you opened the brake fluid reservoir before pressing the the piston back... I hope so...
@autodocuk5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! You have a reasonable assumption. One should open a brake fluid reservoir prior to fitting the caliper piston. Best regards, Autodoc!

First you should check thickness of the disc, limit is 8mm. When I'm pushing piston in, I prefer to open bleed bolt (with hose on) and push excessive brake fluid out. It's contaminated by dirty cylinder you pushing in and also it's easier. Then you should take out slide pins, clean and lube them. I just replaced mine at 220.000km and discs have been original, amazing.

@autodocuk Жыл бұрын
In general, the disassembly will be similar, the only thing that may be slightly different is the design features of your car. More accurate information can be obtained from the technical documentation for the car or by contacting the car service.

but you shouldn't let the caliper hang by the break line
@autodocuk5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! You are absolutely right. The brake caliper must be suspended to prevent damage to the brake hose. Best regards, Autodoc team.

Hi, when turning the piston are both sides turned clockwise? Also why do you have to to hold the nut steady on the guide bolts?
@autodocuk7 жыл бұрын
The nut needs to be retained in order to avoid guide sliding around its axe, otherwise it is impossible to loosen the support guide. Best regards, Autodoc team.

Dudes no torque wrench on the guide bolts?
@autodocuk8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! When necessary, the tightening torque is set on the pneumatic wrenches. The other attachments are tightened by hand applying some effort. Best regards, Autodoc.
