Perfect instructions! I also had to use the longer screw from the backside of original lamp. Without it, the projector was giving a "lamp" warning light and was not switching on. New bulb is looking fantastic.

Thank you very much. This was an excellent video. I put the replacement (after market bulb) in last night following the directions and I ran into where the projector would turn on the fault (warning) light (double red blink continuous) - I went back and took the old (longer black screw) off the OEM assembly and replaced the newer (stainless steal) off the after market. it worked line a charm. My guess is the newer screw was not clamping down far enough and was stopping the power leads into the bulb assembly from making good contact. thanks again !!

Thanks, this video provided some clarification on how to replace the bulb assembly. Turns out mine was burned out and broken ( purchased used off eBay ). I just ordered a new one, so looking forward to using the projector again.

I have a Sony VPL-VE50 and ordered a bulb and replaced. It didn't work. The red led blinks three times indicating to replace bulb as it did it for the failed original bulb. Would you please let me know where you purchased the replacement bulb?

Do you know how to clean the fan on this projector? My projector turns off within a few mins if turning on. Don’t see anything on the screen. Not sure what the issue of but I assume the fan needs to be cleaned?

Did you replace the bulb?? Could try cleaning the filter, the filter keeps the fan clean

I'm at 2350hrs and just got the replace lamp/filter text on my screen

@@gordonstewart9550 I am well over 4500 hrs on mine. When I get that lamp/filter warning I clean the filter and leave the bulb alone. I always keep a spare bulb just in case.
