Hi! I got my hands on a Panassonic M5 Cam recently, it's beautiful :) . All functions are working (recording, playback, etc.) however I have a lot of distortion in the image both in the finder, in the feedback and also in the recording. The interesting thing is that when I disconnect the Finder, the distortion in the feedback disappears. Some of the distortion returns when I start recording and completely returns if I reconnect the finder. I believe part of the problem may be coming from some electromagnetic noise coming from the tube inside the finder... Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with this issue? Thank you. Nope because that camera is so old i wouldn't know where to begin. Probably bad caps in DC DC converter. Losing power output and the extra load of the evf is loading down the power rail.

The original Acer replacement lamp (Osram) back then for my not so great Acer beamer was also Made in China 😂 So far after more then 6000h runtime I am still happy with my current led/laser beamer. I hope that LED for that type of units is a better improvement then the switch from ccfl to led in lcd tvs.

Not sure if my Epson 5030 UB has that type of switch but I will definitely remember this video if I have similar problems.

It will have a lock out switch. Those bulbs operate under extreme pressure and can explode.

Great video thanks. I'm working on mine and have the same problem. But mine won't light up. After market bulb. However, my problem now is that I can't get the lamp out. It's totally stuck and won't budge with all screws out. Can't see ANYTHING stopping it. Any ideas without taking it apart?

No because other than a bulb change i have never worked on one and i gave this one away

How long do those projector lamps last? I know the old incandescent lamps for our movie projectors only were expected to last about maybe 18 hours.

3000 to 4000 hours. My Samsung dlp protector is still on original bulb and it is 21 years old.

Hey I have Sony ccd trv16 it turns on and you can watch the playback on the tape but once I try to eject the tape it goes up and than goes back down without it actually opening is this fixable or what am I doing wrong

Sony is excellent in 99.9% of parts and the like, most definitely especially heat sinks on amps, but that lever spring switch activator is bogus design.

In a dark room they can look really good. I have a real good Panasonic that was 12000 when it was new. Some day I will set it up. It's even bigger then this one.

I know that you're tired already about hearing the solar eclipse thing. Well, I'm not spending any money to view this happening. I gott'a cereal box, cut the holes in the one end, placed white paper in the other and have already tested it out. Spending any amount of money on a moment that won't happen again in my lifetime (I'll be over one hundred). So the contents of the empty box will be eaten for breakfast each morning.

I'm just going to watch it on NASA tv. They will have the best coverage from multiple locations. Where I am it's 40% so really won't notice anything. Last one we had here a few years ago it was 93% and it did get darker but not putch black.
