Thank you so much for the easy to follow video. I have a 2011 Ford Escape 2.5L with 264,797 miles and still going. Repair shops want to charge $390-500 depending on the shop. I'll just do it myself.

Wow 264,797miles & still running!!! Congratulations your 2011 Ford escape is a beast... I have a 2012 Ford escape limited I became the 2nd owner when I bought it at 120,856 on it it's at 172,049 now & she still runs like a champ but nee spark plugs are due...

Matt I did this job today on a 2010 4 cyl Escape and one of the spark plugs had oil above the threads. So I probably have a gasket issue. Do you have a video on changing Escape valve cover gaskets?

Unfortunately I do not have a video and I no longer have the escape or i would make you one 😞. But, it being a small 4cyl I’ll bet it’s not too difficult!!!

In Sept, an escape was towed. Dec, I purchased it at a tow auction. Locksmith made me two keys. Ford Escape 2010 2.5L, XLT. Not awd. ...when do we replace the coils or do we? I will do the spark plugs, because it's new to me, oil change and trans oil change. I will have the shop do the antifreeze, I guess. sadly, I hear that it's hard for US dyi'ers to truly get the air out of the system...its not running hot or anything now, but I don't know the last time it was service?? So, ill think more on that service

I probably wouldn't replace the coils unless one fails....they don't go bad super often and are cheap to replace if one does. As for the antifreeze...just fill, bring to operating temp, and slowly let air out of the system by opening the fill bottle. Add more as needed and do this for a few days until the level stays consistent and you are good to go! And obviously keep an eye on the temp gauge.

I just use the boot on the coil to remove the plug if the rubber in the socket doesn't grab them.

Don't need to disconnect the battery? Sorry. I'm 49 years old and never chaged a tire. But last week I changed the purge valve on my 2022 escape XLT😁

Not really, with the key off and engine off you are not going to get shocked. You can for extra precautions though if you want! And nice job! Love to hear folks getting out and doing more themselves and saving money in the process!
