For deep reach plugs i use a piece of rubber hose that fits snuggly over the plug to insert them, that way you don't need to drop them in and risk altering the plug gap, you can also start them off the same way and risk any cross threading.
@GPz843 жыл бұрын
Or just get a proper spark plug socket.
@oldretireddude3 жыл бұрын
@@GPz84 I almost think the rubber hose is a better solution. If the plug socket comes loose from the extension and drops into the hole along with the plug, it's just that much more weight on the plug when it hits bottom. The hose also allows more feeling when starting the threads to keep from cross threading.
@Mike_Jones683 жыл бұрын
I cant helieve he dropped them in either. I like this tip, even more so than using a spark plug socket that has a potential for the plug to slip out. Unlikely but in tight quarters like this bike, im taking all precautions to not damage the plug or top threads

Merci beaucoup 🙏👍👌

hello thank you very much for your video very well explained and with very good visual on the work to be done, on the other hand there is no risk of damaging the engine by carrying out this operation of removing Delete of the Pair system, it is not necessary to add a connection to the box unplugged? removed the plug and the housing and that's it? Thank you very much 🙏👍👌

Good vid apart from showing the incorrect way to install spark plugs " Never drop a plug onto its hole" bad practice !! thread damage to plug & head can occur ... This is why a proper plug socket has a rubber insert to hold plug secure before attempting to start thread ... keep up the good work.

The PAIR system is a system made to take exhaust gases and put them back into the airbox (or the other way around, I believe it depends on the bike). It's an emissions thing that's pretty stupid to be honest.
@ianmuggeridge3 жыл бұрын
The pair system bleeds air from the airbox into the exhaust ports at low rpm's and throttle load..it's purpose is to to bleed "raw" or clean air into the catalyst, the engine runs a little rich while doing so, so the catalyst gets both unburned fuel and oxygen to do its catalysing, and reduces emissions. Proof that this is the concept comes from when the inlet rubbers get old and start leaking, the bikes exhaust sensors spot a lean exhaust stream and it then closes off the pair system.

If you buy a brass wire brush and use it to clean spark plugs it’s possible to make them last a lot longer. Just check the gap and stick them back in. Simple. Not sure when this skill was lost. Possibly sometime in the 1990s. It is more difficult to find brass wire brushes these days, but Lidl was recently selling sets of four wire brushes: 2 steel and 2 brass for a silly cheap price. So I bought two sets.

This works on traditional copper-based plugs but could damage the iridium plugs so might not be a good idea for those type of plugs.
@G582 жыл бұрын
@@NevinPower Who told you that? Was it a spark plug salesman by any chance?
@G582 жыл бұрын
@@NevinPower Iridium is a chemical element with the symbol Ir and atomic number 77. A very hard, brittle, silvery-white transition metal of the platinum group, it is considered the second-densest naturally occurring metal with a density of 22.56 g/cm³ as defined by experimental X-ray crystallography. Wikipedia Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, in proportions which can be varied to achieve varying mechanical, electrical, and chemical properties. It is a substitutional alloy: atoms of the two constituents may replace each other within the same crystal structure. Please explain why you believe brass will damage iridium. easy job, go slow and you will have it done in an hour maybe? also make sure you put antiseze on the threads, some dielectric goop on the coils output and input to help prevent rusting. if you want grab a bottle of throttle body cleaner and give the tops of your cylinders a good hit, don't flood, but a good hit. let sit for a half an hour / as long as it takes you to do this job and it will help burn off much of the built up carbon. results, faster ignition / bike turns on faster and more reliable burn/ less low end stumble. yeah honda says what 50k miles? but you should do it ever 10k miles as a way to also check on the bike to make sure all is well.

@paulscott11002 жыл бұрын
Sorry but all you have to do the pair delete is block the fresh air coming from airbox. Without air going into the pair valve it can not do anything. I would also say only do this mod if you have deleted catalytic converter. The whole purpose of pair is to get rid of unburned fuel in your cat. If you still have a cat all you will be doing is shortening it's life. That's my 2 cents worth.

Yeah it's not a performance improvement at all. It only saves about 2 lbs of weight and does nothing other than that... however it does remove a lot of clutter underneath which I like.
